The Albir fiesta weekend is a much enjoyed celebration every summer in the beach resort of Albir. Sound and colour comes to life mid August and this year (2019) the fiestas will start with a “Caribbean” night parade of the Penyes Association that will pass through the main street of the town, with the usual drumming bands and correfocs. This starts from 23:00h and walks to the Parque Eucaliptus where much of the weekends festivities will take place.
There is much planned for the weekend including the 3 nights of music and DJ’s set up in the street outside the Eucalyptus Park. There is a drive through of classic cars and motorcycles on Saturday morning travelling through the town centre.
The childrens water park is always popular and this will be running from 11:00am on Saturday and Sunday.
One of the highlights is the firework display. This will be held at the main municipal car park (where the Sunday market is held) and start at 23:30h on Saturday. Followed by late night parties and a foam party running from midnight until 04:00am. The full program is here:
On Sunday the fiestas will close with a church service and concert, closing a 13:00h. This is sure to be a fantastic fun weekend for all. Many bars and restaurants will participate with live music, fun and games.
